Bighouse detainee, Loomis, successfully scaled the wall of the Bighouse courtyard yesterday afternoon and escaped. He avoided capture by prison officials and was on the run for approximately an hour before actually breaking back into the prison. It appears life on the outside was not what he expected. He returned, without his collar, and with a debilitating case of the gag’n'drools. Since Loomis has a history of “sampling” things that his salivary glands find objectionable (without resulting in permanent damage, at least for the cat), we kept him under observation. After several hours, his condition had not improved, and it was quite apparent he was suffering a good deal of discomfort.
The prisoner was transported to the veterinary clinic where he received a thorough examination. The examination revealed no physical damage and overall good health, but it did discover some suspect bowel contents (unsurprising for a prisoner with “Willful destruction of flip-flops” on his rap sheet). The prisoner received a couple of injections to help ease his discomfort, and was discharged with orders for continued observation. As of today, he appears to be feeling somewhat better, but will remain under close supervision.
We will keep everyone updated on his condition. In the meantime, although we hate he’s feeling poorly, we are enjoying the *silence* around here resulting from Loomis’ newfound, appreciation for staying indoors.

The boys suggested I put up a Haiti Relief Effort page, so here it is: http://www.mercycorps.org/fundraising/rocketsledd

Thanks for making Friday Dec 18th the busiest day for the Bighouse since it’s construction. A whopping 62 views! I hope the server can handle the traffic! Hardy har har.
All previously mentioned glitchiness, and then some, got rectified this weekend. I got a bit tired of trying to actually fix the problem and just did a clean install. Despite the brute-force tactic, I’m feeling quite smart for managing to keep all of your user information intact! It’s the little things that make me happy.
The new theme, ComicPress, is in place and, along with a few new plug-ins (some of which also created by the ComicPress folk), is working just smashingly! In addition to the features I mentioned in the last post, you can also now navigate the comics using your arrow keys. Left and Right arrow keys page you through the episodes. Shift + Left or Right arrow keys send you to the beginning or end of the strip. Again, it’s the little things.
Until next time, toodles.
The bad news is there’s an issue with lifeinthebighouse.com. Many would never see the problem, but it exists, and it bothers me. What is it, you might ask? Well, it’s the fact that you can get to this site by using http://www.lifeinthebighouse.com but you cannot get here by leaving out the “www.” I know. It’s freaky. I have been unable to find a quick fix so I will be attempting a fresh install sometime soon. Probably this weekend.
That’s the bad news.
The good news, however, comes two-fold! Part one of the good news is there is indeed a new Life in the Bighouse. I’ll be posting it soon. The other good news is I’ve found a new wordpress theme that was designed for comic delivery. I haven’t played with it much but so far it looks like a very nice theme with several grand features for comics. One of which being a bookmark feature that allows you to “tag” where you are when you’re done reading, and then, when you come back, it’ll send you to where you left off. Not a very useful feature for LitB (yet), but a feature I’ve wanted with several of the webcomics I’ve read. We’ll see if the boys approve of the new features.
So that’s that for now. A new Life in the Bighouse will be available shortly.
Thanks for reading.
